Jade from Beyond Good & Evil (and soon Beyond Good & Evil 2) is an iconic games character. Jade differed from many female protagonists because she was ‘regular’, she didn’t have size triple D breasts, she didn’t sport an armored bikini, Jade was cute, sexy, independent and hot without these attributes. In fact many gamers found her hotter due to these things being left out (something many developers are still to catch onto!).
Sharleen Spiteri is lead singer of Scottish band 'Texas'. She’s probably best known in the lesbian community as singer of the theme song to Ellen (the sitcom, not the talk show) – the song was ‘So Called Friend’.
As well as singing the theme to Ellen, Sharleen also has a huge lesbian following because she’s cute, cool, has one heck of a voice and awesome stage presence. Her short floppy hair was first seen way back in 1989 with the number one hit ‘I Don’t Want a Lover’ – (I just need a friend) and she’s set to release her first solo album ‘Melody’ mid 2008.

That thick dark floppy hair is a bit of a Jade trademark. We’re hoping it will be back in Beyond Good & Evil 2, though with the makeover the pudgy Uncle Pey’j has had, who knows what Jade will look like. Here’s hoping she hasn’t had breast implants and a personality exchange.

Here's hoping when Jade returns in Beyond Good & Evil 2 she's still sporting the same cute tomboyish wardrobe she has in the first game. The trailer that was recently released doesn't really show Jade, though from what there is, it looks like she still has her short hair and baggy trousers!

Jade and Sharleen, we salute you.

We hope you've enjoyed this little foray into yet another Dyke Double.

The character of Jade is one that more female characters in games should model. Developers needs to start thinking of what girls want to play/see rather than what (they think) boys want to see in a female character.

Yes, yes, yes, spot on dyke doubling! I do have to confess however that I always used to get 'Texas' and Aussie band 'Baby Animals' mixed up. Suzi DeMarchi could totally step into Shar's shoes as Jade's DD. A Scot and an Aussie. Hmmm...

"female" gamers should be happy that game devs are making more games w/strong female chars in it. there's no need to specifically make games w/fem chars for "female" gamers. there are female devs so go petition them to make games for "women." otherwise, if yer @least cute then just wear as little clothing all the time if possible and give me a call; if not, then go w/yer emo ways coz yer useless. much love to the attractive women. put the fuglies in the oven and crank the fire up. lol
