Lesbian Movie Characters in Games – Kim from BTC

Thought we’d do something a little light hearted and fun, since there’s really no lesbian gaming news specifically for us, what with Mass Effect now being over done to the point of “I can’t take another lesbian Mass Effect story!”.
We at the LG got to thinking about, what lesbian movie characters would make good video game characters? The following is what we’ve come up with: Kim from Better Than Chocolate.
As always we’d love to hear your thoughts, additions etc in the comments. We’ll bring you some other Lesbian characters made into video games soon.
Kim (Christina Cox) in Better Than Chocolate.
This is easy because Christina Cox has been in so many TV series and movies that could and in one case has been made into a video game (Chronicles of Riddick) that she’s perfect for a video game role. She’s sassy, cool and tough. She’s even been compared to Elise from SSX Tricky.

Sure the character of Kim is less kick ass than say Christina as Eve Logan in The Chronicles of Riddick (seen above) and a game based on Better Than Chocolate would never fly in the real word, but here goes…
So here’s the pitch (any similarities to GTA are purely coincidental on purpose).

Protagonist: Kim
Setting: Vancouver City
Plot: Kim drives into town GTA style in her hand painted hippy truck mobile. She’s got shoulders wider than the Grand Canyon and she’s about to show the skinhead neo-nazi’s of Vancouver City just what a difference one wandering lesbian artist can make.
Levels:
The back alley’s of Vancouver’s’ gay nightclub district
Here Kim can save pretty girls from the onset of psycho neo-nazi troubles. She can hide her truck from police if needed and she can get into nightclubs for free where she can then save transsexuals from fugly bigoted lesbians in the female toilets area.
Warehouse District
The warehouse district is the safehouse area, Kim can park her truck here, repair it, repaint it to drop the ‘wanted level’ so the cops don’t chase her for being too gay. That is of course if the car isn’t impounded and she has to run everywhere without getting tired (which we’re pretty sure Christina Cox could do!). The safehouse also contains Maggie, Kims ‘hot coffee’ stop if you know what we’re saying.
The Bookstore
As you’d imagine the bookstore level is where Kim can go to up her skill levels before heading out into Vancouver City. She can also get health here when needed since Maggie works in the bookstore too. The Bookstore also acts as the last level in the game when it’s attacked by skinheads and Kim has to save the world by disarming dopey café owners who want to swap stoves whilst leaving their gas in the on position, all whilst neo nazi’s throw flares.
Peripheral Characters:
Maggie is the love interest in the game. She’s an ice sculptress who lives with her mother Lila. Maggie is handy because she gives Kim health hearts whenever she appears in the game.
Lila is a character mostly seen in the Warehouse level. She is a peripheral character you’ll feel sorry for and serves the purpose of moral anchor for the game. She also has a healthy share of chocolates on her at all times, which Kim can use to build up her ‘O’ meter.
Frances is a character found mostly in the bookstore levels, though she also appears in a sub quest called ‘Those Assholes at Customs’.
Judy is a transsexual that appears in various levels and is key to the condo levels in which the player has to repaint a condo as fast as they can.
Paul is the pervy younger brother of Maggie, he serves no purpose in the game other than in the ‘Sofa’s Are Fun’ level in which the player has to stop him seeing into the room.
Carla is the bookstore skank, but she’s got heart. You’ll barely have anything to do with Carla, but you’ll be so glad that’s the case.
Tony can be seen in the bookstore levels, he’s the well meaning café owner that suffers from internalized homophobia. He also sucks at work safety.
Classic Quotes from the game:
Lila: “I read a study and after the age of forty a female gamers chances of being taken seriously within the demographic are diminished by eighty percent. SO, after fifty, God help you. And since I probably won't be playing video games again, chocolate is the only pleasure left for me.
Carla: “Ouch, it's the plight of the bisexual gamer. Gay girls won't play with you.”

Cute, but make it Mac compatible, too! ;)
