The "Climax Edition" of hypersexualized gaming heroine Bayonetta features a very girly gun collectible for some pre-orders as you will see after the jump. Bayonetta Climax Edition comes in premium slipcase packaging and features the Bayonetta game, as well as a 36 page hardcover art book and CD soundtrack featuring music from the video game. When pre-ordering the special Bayonetta: Climax Edition at selected retailers however, you will also receive a very limited custom built replica of the Scarborough Fair, Bayonetta’s beloved pistol which she has strapped to her hands and feet. Sweet... but they are limited. Bayonetta is released Jan 2010 on X360 and PS3.

David Cage, the CEO of Heavy Rain developer Quantic Dream has been speaking to NowGamer in an indepth interview when he states "As an industry we make games for teenagers and kids," This led to a few sites picking up on this quote and seemingly - perhaps - taking it out of context. On reading the entire interview I got the feeling Cage was instead speaking about sales models presently followed and how sometimes you need to think outside of that and come up with something different.

Gay Girls Who Game are back this week with a HUGE review of Uncharted 2 Among Thieves on PS3. As well as that there's a special review of Brutal Legend in the style of 'Lesbo Conflagration'. Needless to say there is of course also the usual cool viewer feedback!

Mike Fahey over at Kotaku has been seducing a human rogue (Leliana) in Dragon Age: Origins with his City Elf rogue. Both characters are female (I know, but let's not go there) and the Xena / Gabrielle like tryst that follows is captured by Fahey on video (and not even on a tripod ;o). If you want to see some more BioWare girl on girl action, then I guess you'll have to head to Kotaku (we'd have embedded to save you the comments that are sure to appear, but it's not possible... sorry!).
Our good friend Michael over at The Brainy Gamer has a great post up about the recent furor over the "Fight Against Grenade Spam" (yes it's FAGS) usage in the latest Modern Warfare 2 promo by Infinity Ward. Not sure how we missed this one, but we're covering it in case some of you missed her too. Subject Zero is one of the characters in Mass Effect 2 and she's crazy bad-ass. Is this our lesbian love interest in Mass Effect 2? Looks like it given she appears to be doing the dirty with Shepard in the trailer and Shepard is male or female dependent on what you choose. I don't know about you, but she's kind of terrifying in a "Now who's the bad-ass biotic, bitch?" kinda way. Trailer below.
I like to collect gaming guff. I like my office shelves adorned with gaming / geek crap and I like getting said crap for free, or a little bit more than the regular price of a game. So what's with all this virtual bonus stuff more and more games are doing? Pre-order at this store and you'll get this virtual gun in-game, pre-order here and you'll get this costume or piece of virtual equipment no one else has. Now color me jaded, but shouldn't this stuff just be available in the game regardless? So you miss out if you don't live in a certain country and pre-order from a certain store? ... Gamers Anli and Laura got 'married' in early September in NSW, Australia (gay marriage isn't legal yet, but that doesn't stop some couples here in Oz!). Their choice of wedding theme, cake and overall vibe was one of geek girl gaming. The girls stated "We wanted a ceremony that reflected our geeky, romantic, pink aesthetic, while at the same time being profound and meaningful. The next trailer is out for BioShock 2 and yes, we're still excited, color us fangirls we don't mind. The new trailer titled "Siren Alley" gives us a peek at some of the weaponry in BioShock 2. There's also some sweet underwater bits. The voice over is kind of Lara Croft's evil "big sister" sexy as well... maybe that was just me. Check out the trailer below.
If you're like me you are eagerly awaiting some zombie smiting in Left 4 Dead 2. Prepare for your anticipation to crank up a notch after viewing the trailer afte the jump, which was 'leaked' today. Yeah 'leaked' on purpose maybe! Whatever the case this looks amazing, though it has to be said, does anyone else think the character designers were maybe watching a little too much late night True Blood when they came up with Tara Thornton and Jason Stackhouse... Sony's PSPgo is finding it hard to even reach one thoussand in sales figures for its launch week. The PSP Go costs a whopping $450 in Australia, to put that in perspective for non Aussies, the new PS3 Slim costs $498 ($478 in some stores). EBGames in Australia also aren't stocking the machine, come to that I haven't seen it in ANY of the game stores I frequent since it launched. Sony said they're not bothered about the figures, nice to know eh? It's got to be said there is NO WAY in hell I would pay that much for the device and I usually buy pretty much EVERY console / handheld released. I'm not even sure I'd be in a rush if it cost half that, how about you?
Yes a gay character in a video game, don't all fall off your seats. Well it's Queen singer Freddie Mercury in LEGO form so we've still a ways to go. The thing I love about Freddie is, that even where this news is posted on forums / sites that usually have queer bashing aplenty (and for any reason at all), there's nothing. About the most negative statements being thrown around are complaints about how it doesn't really look like him. Freddie Mercury, even the rednecks, bogans and homophobes love you man. Freddie will be rockin out LEGO style in the upcoming LEGO Rock Band title. Full track listing here.
We don't usually cover news that isn't directly about gaming, but today we're making an exception because we think this might be of interest to our readers, oh and there is a gaming connection. If you're unaware of the recent Stephen Gately death and subsequent Daily Mail UK column that followed let's summarize. Boyzone star Stephen Gately was gay, he died on holiday and Jan Moir wrote about it in UK paper The Daily Mail. Moir wrote about it in a very homophobic way and the world exploded via Twitter and other social networks. Lots of complaints were made. One of the best subsequent posts made since Moir's ridiculous statements was done by Charlie Brooker at The Guardian. Brooker you may recall did the pretty awesome TV show about gaming - Gameswipe - we mentioned awhile ago. So there you have it, your gaming tie-in and how it is nice when the voice of reason comes from someone you're not expecting it to. Bravo Charlie.
As we say here in the land downunder "slack ass".. yes I forgot to put up the last episode of Gay Girls Who Game, anyway here it is, better late than never. In this episode the intrepid twosome ponder the Halo ODST debacle and they also check out a couple of cool zombie games in the run up to the highly anticipated Left 4 Dead 2.
